Old Bake House Cottage is situated at Llantwit Major in the glorious Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales. The detached 16th century stone built Cottage was the town's bakery at the beginning of the last century and was converted to a two bedroom cottage in 2003.
Within walking distance of the town centre for all local amenities and the spectacular Glamorgan Heritage coast and beaches. A tastefully refurbished retreat for couples or families, Old Bake House Cottage offers quality self-catering accommodation for your delight.
Quality championship golf courses are only a short drive from the property,including the Vale of Glamorgan Golf Club and Cottrell Park and many others.
The Cottage is a 1 hour drive to the Celtic Manor.
I will provide free airport pickups and a shuttle service to the Celtic Manor.
To make you stay more special I am prepared to provide home cooked evening meals as well as breakfasts (price negotiable on booking). Free bed linen and towels will be provided.
We will be pleased to provide a complimentary welcome basket of local produce for you to enjoy during your stay as well as a small selection of Welsh Beers and Ciders.
The Double Bedroom
This is a generous, bright and sunny room furnished in Provincial style with a King size bed and quality mattress already made for you with 100% cotton bed linen, bedside tables and lamps, wardrobe with wooden hangers, chest of drawers, chair, ample lighting and blackout blinds. Bath, hand and face towels are provided.
The Twin Bedroom
Here there are two pretty iron three foot single beds made up with handmade patchwork quilts, quality mattresses and 100% cotton bed linen complete your comfort. Bedside tables & lamps, dressing table, a walk-in cupboard wardrobe, and two chairs and blackout blind. Bath, hand and face towels are provided.
The Living Room
A good sized, comfortable living area with an inglenook fireplace (not in use), furnished in a country style with two comfortable sofas, coffee table, old oak sideboard, table and four chairs, lamps, and pictures all of which create a homely, relaxing ambience. For your entertainment there is a flat screen TV with freeview, a DVD player with a selection of popular DVD's, radio with CD player, a small library of books and a selection of games.
The Bathroom
The bathroom has a deep old fashioned bath, with a shower over, hand basin and wc. A bathmat, hand towel and hand soap are provided.
The Shower Room
This downstairs shower room has a modern walk in shower, hand basin with mirror over, w.c. and under-floor heating. A hand towel and hand wash is provided.
The Kitchen
The modern fitted kitchen has plenty of cupboard space and is well equipped with a microwave, electric oven, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. There is a plentiful supply of china, cutlery, glasses and kitchen utensils. Hand and tea towels are also supplied.
Utility Room
Off the kitchen is a small utility room which houses the central heating boiler, washing machine, tumble dryer a Dyson cleaner and recycling boxes for glass, plastic and tins. There is also an iron, ironing board, broom, as well as a selection of cleaning and washing materials.
Outside Space
There is a small fenced and shaded courtyard which catches the late sun with a table and chairs and enough space to store bicycles.
The front of Old Bake House Cottage overlooks the owners private beautiful garden which is part of the National Garden Scheme open to the public on one day of the year for charity.
The price for the week is £8,000. I would require a £3000 non refundable deposit on booking, the remainder payable in full 1 month prior to arrival.
A traditional Welsh welcome awaits you in 2010.
